AGADIR

Morocco’s premier beach resort is a great alternative destination to Marrakech for a golf break. The original city was destroyed in an earthquake in the 1960’s and was rebuilt from scratch around a grid system to be a modern port, administration centre, university and tourist resort with 6 miles of sandy beaches. The city therefore more resembles the Spanish Costa del Sol than Morocco. Although it lacks the historical monuments it is a pleasant city to visit, has a good nightlife and can be a base for exploring the South of Morocco. The climate is fantastic with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year.

There are many airlines flying directly to Agadir from most of the UK airports making this an ideal destination for a short or longer golf break all year round with average temperatures between 20 and 26 degrees. Agadir is ideal for golf groups however it works equally well for groups with non-golfers given the fantastic weather and beautiful beaches. Because it is on the coast with its sea breeze Agadir is also cooler than Marrakech so a much better option for July and August when it is simply too hot in Marrakech.
